Jarren the Blue:
Jarren starts laugh out loud and shake his head, to Dex he says "There is a
5 option. We could just use the radio and call for a tow."
After Dex's
responds I say (all assume that we our going to start one of the option be
it call for a tow or send Dex on his way for help )
" I'm going to go look over the ship from the outside and see how bad it
looks."
I put on a poncho and head out side. As I go outside I immediately
want to go back in side because of the heat. I then kick at the sand and
how much I'm starting to hate this planet.
After looking over the ship I
come back in side and drink some of the water. Look over at Ian seeing that
he is still drinking. If he is I'll tell him "I think that you have had
enough. Maybe you could help us with some ideas instead of drinking your
self into a different reality" I then tell Dex what I find out about the
condition of the ship and then say that I going the bridge to work on the
computer. In the bridge I start to reprogram the start key (or what ever it
that links the ship to it's owner) If I can or do I need a space port for
that? I'll now start working on fixing the systems that I can. Like Engines
Life support,……
Dex:
After hearing Jarren's options, Dex's excitement about the cargo is washed away by the fact that it seems unlikely that he will ever get to keep any of it. Dex is having trouble determining which would be more dangerous: Going to the settlement alone, or going with spaced out lunatic with a blaster who just drank half a bottle of drug laced booze. Hmmm. Finally, believing that they are probably eqaully dangerous, he decides that bringing Ian along will atleast be entertaining. There is also the fact that Ian has a blaster, and Dex is not really sure that trying to take it from him is any less dangerous than bringing him along. (Not so much because he is scared of Ian, but because Dex believes that in Ian's state of mind, he could do anything.)
He replies to Jarren, "I agree we should try to keep the ship if possible."
I turn to Ian, and ask, "You up for taking a walk? What do you say we try to find a bar up in that settlement up there?"
I then grab one of the parka's Jarren made and start gathering up water for the trip. I also look for something that will work as a hat.
Ian:
[OOC: I think how I respond is proportional to how
intox I am. If I need a save, I rolled an 18.]
Ian is puzzled by both statements from Dex and Jarren.
I stare at them with a dumbfounded look…then a
light bulb goes off. "I'm their leader!" I think to
myself. "It is only natural that in my dream, I would
be leader so they are of course looking to me for
guidance. Dex wants me to go the settlement to offer
protection and wisdom. Jarren wants my pearls of
wisdom. On the other hand, this is a dream and I
prefer to stay inside with my bottle. No! I must go
escort Dex a show the meriad of leadership qualities
that are inherent within me." I continue musing to
myself.
"Mr. Dex, it would be an honor to throw on the mantle
of friendship and escort you to another bar in the
settlement." I state with complete confidence as I
stand up and throw on a cammo net tarp.
"Jarren. I recommend that you prepare this ship to
become a traveling casino. Sleeze, booze, and
gambling has been the cornerstone of the market
economy longer than the Empire or the Federation has
been in existence and it will be around long after
everyone in the Universe has forgotten them. For it
is lucre that has fallen in our lap my friend!" I
preach in a way only a drunk can do with slurred
speech. As I say this, I walk over to Jarren and slap
him on the shoulder continuing "Besides, I am in
control of his particular cosmos in ways you may not
yet comprehend and I can assure you that we will not
fail in our endeavor!"
As this point, I either pass out cold or follow Dex
out of the ship.
