Neera
As the cool liquid slides down her throat, Neera relaxes and then sighs in relief. The eyes of the human at the bar, Dex, showed no suspicion or any other signs that she had been spotted as she watched the trio approach the Oasis. As she listens to the friendly banter taking place at the bar, she ponders several questions: Where is the Omwati? Why didn’t he enter the cantina as the humans had? Why were they dressed so oddly? But more importantly, which of them had used the force earlier?
She contemplates her next move. Her options are to wait until they leave and follow them, or make contact with them now. Neera realizes that at this time of day, the streets of Mos Taike are deserted due to the unforgiving heat, and she concludes that she could be easily seen if she attempts to follow them. She also likes her odds as they are now—two potential opponents, one of them possibly mad, are much better than three. Making contact now seems the logical thing to do.
Neera turns to do a visual survey of the cantina and sees that the Devaronian is gone and the humans are both sitting in the booth now. She takes her drink in one hand and simultaneously uses the other to do a quick inventory of the various pockets on the waist and thighs of her pants. Reassured that her possessions are accounted for, she slides out of the booth. As she stands, she thinks again of Dex’s deep, green eyes, but quickly reminds herself that they are not to be trusted. She had been betrayed by green eyes in the past. “Be mindful of the present,” Neera tells herself, calling on the training she had received long ago.
She gracefully covers the short distance to their booth and tries to make eye contact with the green-eyed human before asking, demurely, if she may join them. If he declines, she will wait for her next opportunity, certain that she knows where to find them. If he gives Neera permission to sit, she will slide into the booth by his side. With her left hand on her Gycithian fizz, her other hand on the light saber in her right thigh pocket, and with the smile of someone who knows a secret, she will ask “So, Dex Willit, where’s your blue friend?”
Dex
Dex wanders back to booth where Ian is waiting, and sits down to finish his drink. Dex eyes Ian's ale to see how much is left, then takes a very large swill from his own. He is anxious to get out of this place.
After a quick survey of the room to make sure no one will hear him, Dex quietly says to Ian, "We're meeting with him tonight at 2nd twilight. I think we ought to…" Dex is cut short as he watches a green Twil'lek approach their table. Dex smiles at the approaching Twi'lek, wondering what this could possibly be about. He throws a questioning glance at Ian before the she arrives at the table.
"So, Dex Willit, where's your blue friend?" she asks.
Dex takes another look around to see if anyone might of overheard her comment. Confident that no one else heard, he widens his grin, hoping to mask his surprise. Dex thinks to himself 'How does she know about the blue man?' Dex searches his memory, but can not recollect ever meeting this creature. Dex wonders how much she knows about him and his new friends, and their plans. She does seem to have a curious quality, a subtle persuasion over people, that is very unlike Dex's; a quality evident in the way that Leem responds to her.
Maybe she knows something useful about that repulsive Rodian. Subduing the bitterness that always accompanies having to suck up to aliens, Dex reflexively turns on his natural charm.
"You have me at a loss, my fair lady. Do we know each other?" Dex replies. Sensing that she would like to join them, Dex can not help but think of Jarren melting in the blistering heat outside. More importantly than the troubles of his alien companion, Dex really wants to get out of this bar. Still, she seemed to have an influence over the slimy Rodain. She might have some useful information for them. She also seems to have money. This could also be useful. While Dex is confident that she is no easy mark, she might be persuaded to buy everyone lunch. In any case, they definitely need to find out what she knows about them, and Dex would prefer to learn about all this outside of this particular establishment.
"I do hate to be rude, especially to someone willing to pick up my bar tab, but my companion and I were just on our way to meet a friend. Perhaps you would be interested in accompanying us?"
Turning to Ian, he will say, "Shall we?" Dex will then leave to meet Jarren.
Ian
Ian is about to turn the comm link off and slide out
of the booth when the mysterious being acts to join
our group. Ian pauses and decides to keep the link
open for Jarren. "Poor bastard," thinks Ian when he
remembers Jarren. "I hope he isn't too obidient and
is still outside while this goes down."
Ian takes a swig from his drink and still tries to
keep his face and body posture the same so as to not
give too much away. Yet when she alludes to the third
missing person, Ian mutters "shoo fly! Shoo fly!" and
swats at an imaginary insect several times.
Once Dex suggests leaving together, Ian kicks Dex hard
in the shin and gives him the "no" look not caring if
the alien notices. Ian then takes a last swill from
his mug then whispers a bit to both saying "Not here.
No leave together. Meet hour before 2nd Twilight at
Coozer's."
Once she leaves, Ian blocks Dex with his foot under
the table and waits about five minutes before removing
his foot. Ian follows Dex out as he did when they
came in to the Bar. After getting outside Ian
explains to Dex "Leaving together would raise too many
questions: specifically, why a drop dead gorgeous babe
like her would leave with riff-raff like us. Not to
mention the barkeep is already in love with her and we
don't want his jealousy right now."
Ian and Dex go around looking for Jarren and will
signal him by comm link if needed. Ian then suggests
they go back to the ship and wait for the mysterious
being.
Jarren
"What the hell does she want with me?" Jarren wonders "She can't be looking
for me. She must have found out some how that I was one of the group just
wants to know where the third member of the group is." he reasons to
himself. But still back in his mind a small voice tells him that she wants
something more. Was she another bounty hunter? Was she here to take him
back to the Empire, like he had done to the poor souls that he had found
Jarren could remember his past now, In fact he could remember it all to
well. Now he was plagued by the vision in his mind of his last catch. Just
like in his dreams he could see her eyes piercing him, pleading with him to
let her go. Then he would her his voice saying "I'm sorry, its not personal
its just my job". Damn I wish that I could just forget again. Jarren closes
his eyes and shakes his head to clear his mind and to dispel the haunting
blue eyes. Now that Ian had told the women to leave first and that he and
Dex would leave after, Jarren decides to finish up his business in the
store. Jarren turns off the comlink and walks up to the owner and asks if
he knows of anyone in town or farmers around the town that might be
considered a wizard or be able to see the future or other strange
abilities. If so he will ask where he can find them.
[OOC I will use a force point to help get the information that I need]
Jarren then thanks him and says that he maybe back later. He then heads out
to meet up with the others.
Neera
[OOC I'm going to go ahead and Have Neera leave the cantina, for the sake of keeping things moving, but it seems odd that you made that decision for my character. Does that usually happen in your games?]
Neera smiles at Dex’s invitation to join them and as she considers her response, a loud thud under the table interrupts her thoughts. She sees the non-verbal message to Dex and realizes that the bearded human doesn’t want her to join them. She contemplates changing his mind for him. If he is a weak-willed as he appears, it wouldn’t be difficult. But the quickness of his response to Dex’s invitation and the prompt formulation of an alternate plan lead her to believe that he may not be as mentally incapacitated as he seems.
Neera agrees to meet with them later and whispers, “It’s a date,” as she slides out of the booth. She walks to the bar where Leem is standing and takes a minute to finish her drink. After glancing back at the booth where the humans are still sitting, she turns back to the bartender. “Now I see why you called him a Wookie," she says, smiling slyly, "Thanks for the drink.” She then exits the cantina to head back to her room, feeling a sense of anticipation about seeing them later and hoping to get some answers.
