Towelhead:
Dex sluggishly walks into the docking facility and approaches Jarren and what must be Coozer, his energy near exhausted by the days adventures. Though he is eager to get Coozer to work on the ship, the call of sleep slowly consumes all other thought.
"Jarren, my good man, you do not know how happy I am to see you," Dex says while extending his hand to the Omwati. Looking around the spaceport, he smiles, nodding in approval, adding in a jocular tone, "And no damage done. Your getting much better."
Turning his attention to Coozer, and extending his hand to Coozer, he continues, "You must be the able mechanic Coozer. I am Dex Willit. I trust you have spoken with our friend Cal?" Picking up on Coozer's curious inspection of his attire, he adds, "So, what do you think of 'Freighter Fashion'. You know, it's all the rage on Bespin, but I fear it has yet to catch on in this sector."
After enough small talk has been exchanged as seems appropriate, Dex will ask, "I do not mean to be rude, gentlemen, but it has been a long day, and I am exhausted. If you all would excuse me, I am going to inhale this nerf burger, and get some sleep." He will then go into the ship, find himself a comfortable sleeping spot, eat and go to sleep.
In the morning, Dex will look for the opportunity to speak with Coozer alone, though not necessarily in secret. Dex will not do this if he feels that it might be viewed with suspicion. Assuming this is possible, Dex will ask Coozer for any and all information he can give about Joko. He will also inform Coozer that the party is a little short of cash, and see if Coozer might want to trade some credits for a pornographic holo. He will also ask Coozer,
"So, have you had the chance to look over our ship? When do you think you can have her ready?"
Jarren:
Upon seeing Dex and Ian, Jarren stands up and puts his blaster away.
Shaking Dex's hand Jarren replies "It's good to see you too. Did you play
nice with Ian? ……. Yeah I landed the old girl, with out breaking
anything." in responds to Dex statement about the ship. Turning to Ian
Jarren smiles and shakes Ian's hand in greeting. " Glade to see that you
and the rat made it through the desert!" " well are you back in the real
world or are you still delusional. " Jarren asks with a look of concern on
his has face. If Ian tells him that he still believes that this is a
figment of his imagination then Jarren will just shake his head sadly and
say "Well I'm going to get some rest myself. I hope that with some rest you
will be thinking clearly. If not We are going to have to come to terms with
this matter one way or another." with that Jarren turns and goes inside the
ship shaking his head the whole time. Jarren notices that his so called
friends didn't think to bring him any food. He also realizes that some how
they had acquired money along the way. But did feel the need to share. Not
a big deal, but it did go to show that, whatever kind of relationship the
three had, they were not friends. At least not yet, and Jarren would not
trust any of them until he had proof other wise.
Well Dex is still talking with Coozer about the ship. Jarren goes into the
ship and tells Tin man to keep a watch on the humans Dex and Ian quietly,
and to let him know if they did anything behind his back that would be
contrary to Jarren well being and report it to him. Jarren also lets Tin
man know that if he is asked or is found out. He is not to tell them that I
wanted them watch and to make up an excuse. Jarren then goes and finds a
nice place to sleep. I will try to wake up early the next day.
Ian:
As Jarren approaches, Ian starts to get confused. He remembers Jarren but
is starting to wonder if his delusions are starting to wrestle control away
from
Ian's subconscious. Dex first makes off-handed comments about coming to
terms with reality-whatever that means-then he comes up with some bizarre
theory
about three rag-tag slaves taking control of a ship after the Bothans get
blown away by Imperials.
. . .Yet, conveniently here is a ship, looking very, very real right down to
the patch-jobs on obvious damage. Perhaps the two strangers are really
flesh
and blood. Perhaps they are hallucinations that are frightened of Ian's
conscious perception of their imaginary status; afraid that Ian seeing them
as they
are also gives Ian power to will them away with a blink of an eye.
Ian purposely blinks at Jarren several times. But, Jarren does not
disappear, nor Dex, nor the ship. "Good to see you also…I think," Ian
responds honestly
and suspiciously. Upon Jarren's questions about his sanity, Ian dodges the
implication for the moment by simply saying "I see you for who you are."
Ian then hands the container to Jarren and mumbles, "Help yourself. I've
lost my appetite and Dex forgot his food so he apparently isn't hungry
either."
After the brief encounter, Ian walks onto the ship and looks around at the
familiar surroundings. This definitely looks like the Bothan slave ship
that he
was dragged on to by his original "friends." In fact, he thinks he can spot
the residual bloodstains that landed on the deck after Ian said goodbye to
his
oldest friend, Murrtel. "Just business you know, ol' friend," stated
Murrtel as he handed over a handcuffed Ian to the Bothans. The snide
comment resulted in a swift kick by Ian to Murrtel's lower jaw just before
the Bothans zapped him into submission.
The once again depressed Ian drags himself over to the camouflage netting
with Ears. He has no intention of sleeping but lounging around is always a
favorite pastime of Ian. After lying down, Ian meditates on the possibility
that Dex and Jarren are telling the truth and that he is free. The thought
is appealing but after spending the better part of the last day convinced he
was dreaming, Ian is not so eager or willing to surrender to the urge to be
delusional despite how good the prospect of being free may seem to him. Ian
cracks a smile. How ironic! A potentially delusional person convincing
himself to not give in to being delusional, which actually might mean being
sane. No wonder people stay insane so long. It could take a lifetime to
figure out truth from fiction. And sometimes fiction is more pleasant.
[OOC Continue on Greg if Ian does not fall asleep thinking about his
prospects for being mad.]
Ian's meditations keep his mind active despite being tired. After becoming
completely frustrated by his inability to reason through the issues, Ian
decides
that a promise in a delusional state is just as valid as a promise in
reality. "There is no time like the present!" thinks the madman to
himself. "I better get this over with before I come to in the Bothan slave
ship and the opportunity to keep my dreamy promise slips into the ether."
At this moment, Ian
gets up out of the netting and attempts to skip out without Ears. But if
Ears awakens, he silently motions to Ears to keep quiet and come along. Ian
walks out of the ship and back the way to the exit of Coozer's. If
possible, Ian will walk outside and begin to look for Joko.
